Self Assessment Examinations (SAEs) now available

The CCTN Self Assessment Examination (SAE) is a 75 question online practice examination that was developed to be parallel in content and difficulty to the actual transplant nurse certification examination. The SAE should be regarded as an assessment tool to measure strengths and weaknesses, rather than a study guide for the examination. A passing score on the SAE will not in any way guarantee a passing score on the certification examination.

ABTC has developed self-assessment examinations (SAEs) that can help candidates prepare for the CCTC and CPTC examinations! The SAEs are 50 questions long – which is 50% of the total number of questions on the initial certification examination. The SAEs follows the same examination specifications as the actual certification examinations. The Examination Committees develop the SAEs to be parallel to the certification examinations and includes the same distribution of questions per major content area, and the same distribution of questions at each cognitive level (recall, application or analysis) to provide you with a realistic examination experience.

The SAEs are designed to be an assessment tool to provide you with areas of strengths and weaknesses and not a study guide or a sole source of study.

Individuals who purchase the SAE will receive a link to the web-based product in their email. Once you click on the link and access the SAE, you have 60 days to take the exam. You may exit and enter the exam as many times as you need as long as you do not click on Finish and Grade –at that point access to the SAE will terminate.

The cost of the CPTC ,CCTC and CCTN SAE's are $60 and you must have a credit card and email address to purchase it. Once purchased, the SAE will be active for a period of 60 days in which you may exit and return to the examination as many times as needed. The purchaser will receive a score report via the e-mail address provided.
